ViX Attends LA Blogger Market
Yesterday, the ViX team left San Diego for a visit to Blogger Market, an LA event hosted by Julie Sarinana, fashion blogger behind Sincerely Jules.
Coining the term Blogger Market from “flea market”, the event combined fashionable Angelenos and independent vendors to give style conscious fans a chance to—literally—shop the closets of their favorite blogger. Conceived by Julie, fellow blogger Aimee from SongofStyle and stylist Holly Jovenall, Blogger Market materialized as a unique shopping experience held at an equally unique venue—De La Barracuda.
Situated on the famed Melrose strip, De La Barracuda is Hollywood’s boutique boxing club. The venue was packed with shoppers enjoying a live DJ, vintage pop-ups and of course, blogger-approved clothing and accessories. Even better, there are talks of a recurring Blogger Market and here at ViX, we know we would gladly make the drive up for the next one. What SoCal fashion devotee wouldn’t?
Above: Hollywood’s rainiest day yet didn’t stop ViX. We cruised down Melrose towards the Blogger Market at De La Barracuda, spying style and beauty blogger Rhonda Mae of dotLASH also heading to the event.
Above: Holly Jovenall is an LA stylist and the creative visual and merchandising talent behind top names such as Des Kohan, Ted Baker and Tiffany & Co. ViX stopped by her booth of re-worked vintage pieces and chatted about her androgynous line, Billy Made Me Do It, inspired by her father. Next to her is Jolie Nguyen, social media marketer for Holly’s new line and marketer for MAGIC Tradeshow.
Above: As host of Blogger Market, Julie from Sincerely Jules was busy managing the event, but paused long enough to chat with ViX and take a photo in front of her tempting booth. We love her for her urban edge!
Above: Shea of Cheyenne Meets Chanel looked lovely in hues of blue and she was just as lovely to talk to in person. A quintessential California girl, Shea's beach looks are always on point and we loved it when she took her ViX Ikat pink ripple bikini on vacation to the Bahamas.
Above: And simply because it would be a fashion crime not to partake, here are some beautiful pieces that the ViX team took home (clockwise from left): an ethereal silk dress from Jennifer Humphrey of A Go-Go; vintage floral suitcases from Sincerely Jules; and a cozy knit-made-deadly with spiked leather patches at the shoulders.
Hope you enjoyed our LA adventure! Make sure to check back for more ViX coverage of local events!
