For our sixth and final body type of the ViX Bikini Fit Workshop, we visit the city of Vitoria, situated on an island off the eastern Brasilian state of Espírito Santo.
“The Girl from Vitoria”
Pear shape. Vitoria is an island city set in a curving bay of the Brasilian coast. Much like the island’s shape, the Girl from Vitoria is narrower at the top and wider at the bottom. Balancing out her proportions is key.
Celeb Fit Twins:
Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Eva Longoria and Rihanna
The Girl from Vitoria is the opposite of the apple shape. She needs bikini bottoms that have a great fit and lay comfortably against her body. She has plenty of options for bikini tops, especially ones embellished with fringe, embroidery, prints and other details—these will give her dimension where she needs it.
Embellished Triangle Tops and Bandeaus – Similar to the Girl from Copacabana, the Girl from Vitoria has a modest bust. The best bikini tops for small breasts have padding to provide shape and support. Fun prints and trendy details like ruffles and fringe also help to give the illusion of a fuller top. For bandeaus, look for molded cups and styles structured by ring details for a flattering sweetheart neckline.
BIA, New Band Bottoms and Tie-sides – The BIA and New Band Bottoms give great comfort and functionality; they both have wide bands that lay flat against the hips. The BIA has sliding tubes that help draw the eye inwards, making the hips appear narrower. New Band Bottoms feature a top accent ruche in the back and gives the illusion of a shapely rear. Tie-side bottoms are another option to avoid the pitfalls of digging waistbands—just make sure they aren’t too embellished because this will draw more attention to your lower half.
Mix and Match – This strategy is opposite of the one for the Girl from Olinda. Pair a solid bikini bottom with an embellished top. Visually, the eyes will be drawn towards the upper half of your body and away from your hips and rear.
Fan Fit Feedback:
Christina, from Santa Monica, loves how she can mix and match ViX bikinis. “The Trancoso Bandeau is my favorite and I love the center jewel detail and ruffles. Instead of the matching bottom, I get the New Band Bottom in solid black. Way more comfy and flattering than any other swimsuit I’ve tried on.”
