Autumn Spice: Paula’s Fall Fashion Palette

November 13th, 2012

“I love fall because you can mix summer and winter pieces together.  It’s easy to look both sophisticated and relaxed by keeping things simple.”

ViX designer Paula Hermanny shares with us a practical point.  Fall is synonymous with fashion forwardness, however, new looks can also be created from something as simple as keeping to a classic color palette.

This season, it’s warm and spicy colors that contribute to Paula’s take on fall fashion.  She uses classic neutrals such as black and taupe to anchor each look.  Tops with flowing lines give off the easy air of resort dressing, while careful styling keeps the entire ensemble seasonally relevant.

To finish her outfit, Paula always makes sure to add a personal touch.  Her favorite way to do this is with statement jewelry.  Whether with a gold mesh ring or a leather Hermes cuff, Paula incorporates a special detail true to her distinctive style.  Below, are three looks that Paula has donned this fall:

Fall Back to Resort

A fluid top transitions from summer to fall when paired with taupe Theory pants.  Warm shades of cream and cappuccino are tempered by a touch of turquoise.

Short and Semi-sweet

Black and gold are reminiscent of midnight chocolate, classic colors appropriate for the changes in season.  Here, Paula wears her frilled Club Monaco dress with jute sandals, a pairing she keeps edgy with a gold and leather cuff from Hermes.

Good as Golden

Paula tops a two-toned, flared trouser with a mustard sweater by Diane von Furstenberg.  The soft cowl neck gives this look the added texture that makes autumn dressing so fun!
