Giving Inspiration – Happy Hearts Fund “1 Night/1 School”

Supermodel Petra Nemcova’s Happy Hearts Fund (HHF) hosted a “1 Night/1 School” charity event in conjunction with the Helping Hearts Council (HHC) this past Tuesday. Set atop the rooftop lounge PH-D of Dream Downtown hotel in the famed Meatpacking District, New Yorkers gathered to raise funds for the Tk Pertiwi 11 Kindergarten School.

Forgotten since the help of first responders during a May 2006 earthquake in Indonesia, the school and community have been in desperate need of renewed hope and assistance. Together, HHF and HHC work to implement sustainable practices that ensure lasting impact. The “1 Night/1 School” event and auction proceeds will help rebuild the school, thereby providing the affected community with a sense of relief and normalcy.

“We are all very proud—it was the best one yet,” council member Olga Nemcova tells us of the event, adding that exposure of the HHF mission was key, “it [was] very nice to see the growth.”
