In Rio de Janeiro, the day can take you from the beach to the city without missing a beat. There are stretches of untouched coastline, streets lined with historic architecture, and a creative energy that gives every neighborhood its own character. It’s this contrast that makes Rio so compelling, and the starting point for the new ViX Resort ’27 collection.

The Inspiration Behind Afterlight
For the Resort ’27 campaign shoot, we looked to two sides of Rio de Janeiro: the natural beauty of Grumari Beach and the artistic streets of Santa Teresa.
On the outskirts of the city, Grumari feels a world away. Surrounded by lush greenery, dramatic cliffs, and the Atlantic Ocean, its unspoiled coastline offers a quieter side of Rio. There’s a sense of freedom here that comes naturally, reflected in the collection’s relaxed silhouettes and vibrant palette.
To capture the city feel, we ventured out to Santa Teresa. This area brings a different kind of energy. Known for its winding cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and thriving art scene, the hillside neighborhood is full of color and character. It’s a place where old and new exist side by side, with unexpected details around every corner.
From the openness of the coast to the character of the city, these two settings tell the story of Afterlight. Together, they capture the contrasts that make Rio unique and inspire a way of dressing that feels equally at home in both.
A Closer Look at Resort ’27
For the new season, color, texture, and thoughtful details take the lead. Swimwear and ready-to-wear explore different ways to bring these elements together, creating pieces that stand out on their own and work just as well together.
Color with character. Deep blues, vibrant prints, and saturated hues bring energy to the collection, balanced by softer, more understated shades. Inspired by Rio’s coastline and cityscape, the palette feels bold without losing its versatility.
Details you can feel. Firenze, mesh, and textured cotton bring dimension to the season. Each material offers something different, from the structure of a textured finish to the lightness and movement of mesh. Together, they create a collection with depth and a mix of tactile details.
The details matter. Golden accents add warmth to select designs, while elevated knits and distinctive silhouettes give familiar resort staples a fresh perspective. These are the details that make a piece memorable without overcomplicating it.
